TULSA, OK-- Getting around downtown Tulsa just got easier thanks to a brand new website downtownlive.org.

"We wanted something that wasn't bland and boring. We wanted something that was actually interesting to look at and something people would like, "said Scott Grizzle with TulsaNow.

Whether it's a national chain or just a mom and pop shop its listed right here, with directions, photos, business hours, even a forum for comments.

"This is a critical component of any downtown revitalization," said Tulsa City Councilor Eric Gomez.

The idea transformed into a reality by the hard work of the Tulsa Now organization.

"Downtown wasn't really divided up so we created our own districts or neighborhoods," explained Scott Grizzle with TulsaNow.

The need for a map of downtown was first noticed during Miss Belvedere.

"People were in from all over the world and I could see they were looking lost so, I would go up to them and say what can I do.  'Well, where can we eat downtown?' We didn't really have anything to give them. So, we kind of did a little typed written thing and this is what they needed," said Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor.

Tulsa Now took it upon them to create a user friendly brochure and map of downtown to help encourage foot traffic downtown.

The organization soon realized all of the information they wanted to include would not fit into a brochure so downtownlive.org was born.

The brochures should be circulating businesses in the next month, for now log on and look around the colorful new layout of downtown.
