The City of Sand Springs is asking for help in finishing its new community center. The $4.3 million project has fallen short of its $600,000 fundraising campaign goal.
Park Friends of Sand Springs, an organization created to raise money for the build, said a jump in construction costs impacted public funding. The group is asking the public to help.
Mike Case, President and CEO of Case Associates, has already said, if the city can raise $300,000, he'll match it.
Park Friends officials say they're excited about what the new center offers.
"The center will just really enhance the quality for youth, family and senior citizens that will be using the facility," said Gary Hargrove with Park Friends of Sand Springs.
The Case Community Center is scheduled to open its doors to the public on September 1st.
