This year's elections could change the balance of power in the Oklahoma legislature.  An evenly split Oklahoma Senate could tip toward the Democrats or Republicans.

In the latest Oklahoma Poll, The News On 6 asked which party Oklahomans think should be in control.

That, too, is evenly divided.

The News On 6-Tulsa World Poll shows 42% want Republicans and 42% pick Democrats.  The remaining 16% don't know.

In recent years, the legislature has also cut taxes which some say means less money for schools, roads and other needs.  In light of the tough economic times, we wanted to know what Oklahomans think lawmakers should do about taxes.

Almost half of those polled want to keep taxes the same.  And, more Oklahomans would choose to roll back tax cuts, rather than give themselves a bigger tax break:  22% want tax cuts repealed, while only 17% favor more tax cuts.
