Tulsa's City Hall is on the move, and Thursday marked a milestone. The News On 6's Emory Bryan reports the city council isn't in the new building yet, but the Mayor's Office is now located at One Technology Center, the new Tulsa City Hall.
Mayor Taylor spent Thursday unpacking boxes in her new office. Her staff is already on the job there, and along with several hundred city employees from all departments. Another 180 employees will move Friday and start work there Monday.
"The carpet is clean, great lighting, state of the art space, chairs, all of this was here when we arrived and there's nothing better than getting a building that's ready to move in, all we did was unhook the computers transfer the phones, empty our boxes and here we are," said Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor.
For now, all of the services that citizens handle in person at city hall remain at the old building. Utility and ticket payments and all in person customer service work will stay at the old location until the end of September, when the move is completed.
