A group of Tulsa students is gaining new appreciation for what they have. Members of the youth ministry at Asbury United Methodist spent the morning picking extra produce at OSU's experimental station.
The kids do community service projects all summer. Leaders say this one was a good lesson, with times being tough for so many families.
"What if you went to your fridge and there was no food? And for a lot of people getting this, they don't get the fresh vegetables. So, it really helps the kids put in perspective the idea of food and not having food and being grateful for the food they have," said Marsha Baker with the Asbury United Methodist Church.
The group gathered green beans for the community food bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
