PAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities have lifted a boil advisory issued earlier for a Pawnee County water system.
The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality says that follow-up samples submitted by Pawnee County Rural Water District No. 4 indicate the water is free from bacteria, has adequate chlorine residual for disinfection and is safe for human consumption.
The advisory to boil water intended for drinking or cooking was issued after water samples submitted for routine analysis indicated the presence of the bacteria E. coli.
