Armed Man Taken To Mental Hospital

Parts of Skelly Drive and I-44 were shut down on Tuesday night while a man with a gun held Tulsa Police at bay. News On 6's Dan Bewley reports the incident happened at The Villas At Yorktown apartment complex near the 2100 block of East Skelly Drive.

Traffic was closed in that area for more than an hour. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Tulsa Police Department were on the scene. Officers say a man was inside his apartment complex with a gun and said he was suicidal.

The apartment was evacuated to ensure everyone's safety.

The man was taken into custody and police say he will be put in a mental hospital for evaluations.
