Some big money is on the way to institutions of higher learning in Tulsa. The George Kaiser Family Foundation plans to give $25 million to five colleges in Tulsa. The money will be used to endow faculty salaries.
Of the gift, $12 million will go to OU-Tulsa, $9 million will go to OSU-Tulsa, the OSU Center for Health Sciences and the OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee and $4 million will be given to Tulsa Community College. The money will be matched by $25 million in state money.
The George Kaiser Family Foundation was created in 2001 by George Kaiser, the chairman of BOK Financial Corporation.
