Boots And Badges In A Blood Battle

It's a fight to save lives at the American Red Cross.  Tulsa firefighters, deputies, and police officers are competing against each other in the city's annual Boots and Badges Blood Drive.

Donations slip every summer, and the Red Cross says if it weren't for the men and women in uniform, their supplies could run dry.  Volunteers hope the friendly competition sparks more civilians to give.

"Come join one of these wonderful people who save lives in Tulsa everyday and you can come and donate also," said Jan Hale with the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross says donations are so hard to come by in the summer, because 25% of their donors are college students who head home in the summertime.
