Questions Raised About Hydro Assist Fuel Cell

A Broken Arrow man loves his Hydro Assist Fuel Cell.  The device attaches to your car's engine and produces hydrogen, which mixes with your gasoline.  According to the inventor, it makes the gasoline burn more efficiently and boosts your gas mileage by at least 50%.  But, The News On 6's Steve Berg reports there are serious questions about the inventor of the cell, a man named Dennis Lee.

Attorneys General in several states have gone to court to prevent Lee from selling his products in those states.

Besides the Hydro-Assist Fuel Cells, Lee has marketed things like an engine that he said would run on pickle juice and cola, a detergent-free, magnetic laundry system, a drinkable insecticide, and a noiseless jackhammer.

He also spent two years in prison in California, after officials accused him of overstating the potential energy-savings of an electric heat pump.

Some people say the Hydro Assist Fuel Cell device can work, and that they have them on their own vehicles.

Others say it's scientifically impossible, saying it takes more energy to create the hydrogen, than you get from the hydrogen.

The News On 6 has also seen comments from people who say creating a lean fuel mixture of gasoline and hydrogen will burn much hotter and create more wear and tear on the engine.
