Local car dealers were recognized on Monday for helping keep Oklahoma kids safe on our roads. For more than 13 years, members of Tulsa Auto Dealers have donated $5 for every car sold to go toward buying car seats for families in need.
Organizers of the Seat a Child-Save a Life campaign say the effort is their biggest fundraiser.
"This program buys car seats for families who could not or would not have otherwise used one," said Mary Beth Ogle with Safe Kids Tulsa.
Jim Norton Toyota received the Top Donor Award for the sixth year in a row.
All kids under the age of eight or shorter than 4 feet 9 should be in a car seat or child restraint. If you need help buying a seat, call Safe Kids Tulsa at 494-SAFE.
