Police are on the hunt for clues to an early morning homicide on Sunday. Officers with the Tulsa Police Department say 46-year-old Mark Grace was killed. It's the 18th homicide this year. As The News On 6's Emory Bryan reports, police say the man was killed, apparently after an argument between three people.
It happened at 67th and Utica, just before 2 a.m. Though neighbors reported hearing gunshots, it was first reported to authorities as a stabbing,
The victim, a middle-aged white man, was dead when paramedics arrived. Officers marked off the area with crime scene tape to keep people back.
After securing the scene, detectives asked around the apartment complex and found three witnesses. Police determined the victim was with another man and a woman, on their way to a nightclub when they stopped the car and started arguing.
Detectives are talking with the couple. The scene is a parking lot next to an apartment complex, and while the victim did not live there, he did live nearby.
Detectives used flashlights to search for evidence in the darkness. They searched the area and continued questioning people at the scene.
Later, in the daylight, detectives returned with a metal detector, looking for more evidence. They found several items of interest.
Tulsa police were questioning a witness who lives near the crime scene, but have so far provided no other details on the homicide.
