A multi-million dollar cleanup near Gore could start soon. The land is contaminated from a former uranium conversion facility.
Sequoyah Fields used to enrich uranium for nuclear power plants, but shut down in 1993. Crews are planning to clean up contaminated groundwater and build a disposal area to hold contaminated dirt and old equipment.
Federal regulators have signed off on the final report which means the process could begin this summer.
Last year, a trucking company hauled off all the depleted uranium to a burial site in Nevada.
