As Seen On TV: Students Win Academic Bowl

Some Tulsa students are also the National Academic Bowl Champs.

At the Tulsa International Airport, people waving signs and cheering welcomed home Booker T. Washington students on Tuesday. They competed against 120 teams from across the nation to claim the title. The team says the win is unbelievable.

"It feels great. It feels like we belong," said Jordan Rogers, Booker T. Washington student.

"Our students just came right through, beating one team right after another. At times, I didn't think they even knew the competition was difficult," said Marilyn Turmelle, team coach.

Booker T. Washington was named one of Newsweek Magazine's top 100 high schools in the country.
