Now that Obama is the presumptive Democratic nominee, his supporters in Green Country are gearing up for the general election.

The News On 6's Chris Wright reports local Democrats believe Obama can pull off a huge upset over John McCain in Oklahoma.

On Wednesday, a Tulsa superdelegate also threw his support behind the Senator from Illinois.

"It's been exciting; it's been history-making. It made a guy lay awake at night thinking how I should vote," said Jim Frasier.

Tulsa attorney Jim Frasier says he finally made up his mind when Barack Obama stepped to the podium Tuesday night. He is one of the last of Oklahoma's nine democratic superdelegates to pledge his support to a candidate.

Frasier's decision is purely a mathematical one. He wanted to wait until Obama secured the necessary delegates.

"I'm gratified the decision's been made for me.  I was ready to make the decision, but I'm glad it's been made for me," said Frasier.

On the other hand, Elaine Dodd has backed Obama since he launched his run for the White House.

Dodd, who is the head of Tulsa County Democratic Party, says her office was flooded with phone calls Wednesday. She says people want to volunteer for the campaign and are buying up all the Obama merchandise.

"We ordered more yard signs this afternoon, ordered more buttons today," said Dodd.

The Democrats also held a strategy meeting. They exchanged ideas about how to maximize voter turnout for Obama in November. And both the party and its superdelegate admit they have a lot of work ahead of them.

"There are lots of reasons to hope and to work hard.  It would be a phenomenal night for Oklahoma to be in the Obama category," said Dodd.

"You can be assured he's going to carry Illinois before he carries Oklahoma.  But we're not writing Oklahoma off at all," said Frasier.

Oklahoma has not voted for a Democrat in a presidential election since 1964.

After Frasier's decision on Wednesday, Congressman Dan Boren is now the only uncommitted superdelegate in the state.
