The storm took down power lines across Tulsa. PSO says at the height of the outages there were nearly 70,000 customers without power. A spokesman for the company says that number is down significantly to 45,000, but there are still tens of thousands in the dark.
Crews are working to get those lines back up and the lights back on.
PSO called in the cavalry from across Oklahoma
"We have additional crews coming in from out of state, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. Those crews are all expecting to be arriving this evening and working tonight and into tomorrow," said PSO spokesman Stan Whiteford.
PSO expects to have power back to all but 15,000 people by sometime Sunday night. It says the rest won't likely have their power until sometime late Tuesday.
There are also several hundred Verdigris Valley Electric customers in the dark. They're expected to have power back by early Monday morning.
