It's true that inclement weather often causes your signal to weaken.  But, if your digital signal is already weak, that's when the problems start.  In order to keep from losing your signal all together there are several steps you can take.

First make sure your cables are properly connected to your antenna and television. Second, when aligning your antenna, make sure it's pointing in the right direction.  For The News On 6, the transmission tower is in Oneta, Oklahoma, just southeast of Tulsa.  Also, make sure your antenna is as high as it can be. Placing it in the attic might be your best bet.

There is an easy way to check to make sure your signal is strong.

"Typically most sets have some sort of installation or set up off of the menu function on the remote control.  There's often a menu button and then you go to the installation or set up button and it will take you to a signal strength tab and then once you select for whatever channel you're looking at, it will actually tell you the signal strength for that channel," said The News On 6 Director of Engineering Gerald Weaver.
