Police Officer Survives Overnight Accident

The search continues for a driver who caused a Tulsa Police officer to wreck overnight. 

The accident happened around 3 a.m. Monday on the Sand Springs Expressway, west of downtown Tulsa. 

Tulsa Police captain Shawn King was eastbound in his patrol car when the driver of a white car changed lanes right in front of him.  Shawn King took evasive action and hit a light pole before his vehicle came to a stop in a gully. 

Police say King was taken to a Tulsa hospital, but will be okay. 

The driver of the other vehicle didn't stop. 

Tulsa Police say it's a good thing King was able to call in the wreck himself.  The police car was so far off the road, the vehicle may not have been seen for a while.
