Some oil industry experts are volunteering their time in Tulsa to help scout for possible drilling locations on city-owned land. Right now, a Tulsa ordinance prohibits the practice.
But, Tulsa city leaders have been considering changing that to help pay for more than a billion dollars in street repairs.
Oklahoma City earns nearly $3.5 million a year in royalties from oil and gas operations on city-owned land.
