River Accident Leaves Man Dead

The Illinois Volunteer Fire Department says a man in his early 20's was transported by Life-Flight to an area hospital.

An accident on the Illinois River left a man dead on Saturday. The Illinois Volunteer Fire Department says a man in his early 20's was transported by Life-Flight to an area hospital after a rafting accident just north of Tahlequah on the Illinois River.

The fire department says the man was rafting with his family at the time of the accident.

The Scenic Rivers Commission is investigating what caused the accident.
