The brand new addition to the Tulsa Ballet has been unveiled. The five year "Exceeding Expectations Campaign" raked in more than $17 million.
On Thursday, the curtain dropped revealing a brand new, state-of-the-art addition to the Tulsa Ballet. It's located at 45th and South Peoria in Tulsa. With a gift shop, coffee shop, ticket office and a new theater to boot, the Tulsa Ballet now has another reason to brag.
The final stage of the three part project is Studio-K, Kavisto Hall. The 300 seat theater provides an in-house performance venue that will allow the company to have additional dance series on top of the five they currently offer every year.
When it's not being used by the dance company, the space will be used for educational purposes and can even be rented out to other organizations.
However, not all Tulsa Ballet shows will take place in this new theater.
"This purpose of this was not to move our productions or do anything else, but it was it was to allow us the space so we could do smaller productions more contemporary works that wouldn't fill the PAC, but it will fill this," said marketing director Todd Cunningham.
