How to bring fuel prices down was one of the topics at OSU's 2nd Annual Energy Conference on Wednesday.

Leaders in the state's energy industry spoke on a variety of topics, including the future of bio-energy, international energy trends, and challenges facing oil and gas producers.  Some at the conference said the United States has the resources to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, but not the political will.

"We are prohibited anywhere in the Atlantic coast, anywhere in the Pacific coast, anywhere in the offshore Gulf of Mexico, anywhere in the eastern half of the Gulf of Mexico.  There is no country in the world that comes anywhere close to the United States in restricting areas that we can drill," said Devon Energy CEO Larry Nichols.

Oklahoma has been experimenting with switchgrass as source of bio-fuel.   Guymon will now be the location for a 1,000 acre living switchgrass laboratory.  It will be the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
