Teen Killed In Hit And Run

A deadly hit and run accident is under investigation.  Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Lt. George Brown tells The News On 6 that 17-year-old Crystal Strange of Checotah and another student were taking pictures along Texanna Road, just south of I-40 when she was struck and killed by a passing van.

According to Crystal's MySpace page she was a student at Bacone College majoring in journalism.  A friend tells The News On 6 the two of them were working on a class project when the accident happened.

Brown says the driver of the van fled from the scene.

The highway patrol is looking for the vehicle, described as a white Chevy minivan.  The vehicle had tinted windows.  Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in Muskogee at 918-683-3256 or in Tulsa at 918-627-0441.
