Loretta Vojtech brought her dog RedEx to the AKC Agility Championships in Tulsa.
"Actually RedEx came from Missouri from a breeder and my mom bought him eight years ago. She started his agility training and we worked him together," said Loretta. "You've got nineteen obstacles, you've got ten ways to go off course, bars you could knock that could eliminate you, to get through clean it's a rush, it's fun."
But, the road here has been a rough one.
"One year after mom got RedEx she was diagnosed with breast cancer. So, we trained him and worked him together, because at the time, she had a lot of dogs and going through chemotherapy it's really hard to train a dog. Three years ago she passed away. I made a promise that I would keep all the dogs and continue running them, " said Loretta.
After the pair ran the obstacles, Loretta praised RedEx's character and reflected.
"Lord, I didn't imagine that I'd be here. She'd be pleased as punch-especially after that run. We did good," said Loretta.
