The Rogers County Sheriff's Office has received confirmation from the state medical examiner's office regarding the identity of the human remains located Thursday in rural Rogers County.

Undersheriff Barry Lamb says the remains were found in the Spenser Creek Area near Foyil.  The identity of the remains has been confirmed as Blake Sutherland.

Lamb says on January 12, 2007, the Rogers County Sheriff's Office took a missing person's report concerning Blake Sutherland.

An investigation into the case lead investigators to suspect that a homicide had occurred.   However, without a victim, that investigation had stalled.

Undersheriff Lamb says now that a positive ID has been made, the investigation can now continue.
