Independent drug lab has found no trace of steroids in four Sand Spring Police officers.
Police Chief Daniel Bradley released results of the tests Thursday. Bradley says samples were taken from four officers who were under suspicion of using steroids. Those test results found no traces of anabolic steroids.
The Sand Springs Police Department launched an internal investigation when the rumors surfaced. One police officer was even placed on leave.
Bradley says he never expected anyone to test positive, but it was worth sending the message to his officers.
"That also sends a message to our employees. It also makes sense to our citizens that we are responsible for policing ourselves," said Police Chief Daniel Bradley.
The chief says he will start a random drug screening program throughout the police department.
