A grass fire pushed by strong winds blew out of control and burned a church to the ground. The blaze happened Monday in Pottawatomie County in central Oklahoma.
Fire officials say it started as a trash fire that got out of hand. The fire destroyed the Sallateeska Baptist Church along with two buses and two other nearby structures. The grass fire charred about 25 acres.
The rural church was built in the 1930's. Church members say they will rebuild.
Fire officials are reminding the public to be careful what they burn, particularly on windy days.
