Workers broke ground on nine new tennis courts at LaFortune Park on Tuesday. It's part of Operation Facelift. LaFortune Park officials say court usage has grown more than 75% in the last six years.
"It's time, it's just time we built more courts and let more people play tennis and get goin' with it," said LaFortune Tennis Center's Melissa McCorkle.
LaFortune Park received more than a million dollars in Vision 2025 funds, but it still needs another two and a half million to complete the project.
