A psychic's search for Cori Baker continues. Two dozen searchers looked all day on Tuesday, but by nightfall, the body of the missing teenager still has not been found. The News On 6's Ashli Sims reports the Baker family, desperate for answers, turned to a psychic who claims he knows where she is.
Despite coming up empty-handed, the psychic leading the search claims he's confident they'll find Cori Baker's body. Dozens of searchers picked through a wooded area, thick with underbrush, behind Floral Haven cemetery. They've searched the area before, but this time they were led by someone who claims a supernatural connection to Cori Baker.
"Things are going good. I'm sensing that she is out here," said psychic Jeff Baker.
Jeff Baker, who is not related to the Baker family, is a psychic who says on his website he's worked with federal and state officials to find missing people. His website does not mention how many people he's found, but his blog does talk about the case of a missing California woman, Veronica Ruiz. The 25-year-old woman disappeared last December. Jeff Baker was invited by the family to help find her.
A California paper quoted him as being 100% confident they would find her, but they did not. Ruiz's body was discovered about one month later by a sheriff's department search and rescue team.
EquuSearch's Cindy Wisdom, who is also helping in the search for Cori, says in three years, she's never found a person because of a psychic.
"I don't know what it's going to take to find Cori and if this is, if this man gives us information that finds her I'm all about it. But, I've never had that experience," said Cindy Wisdom of Texas EquuSearch.
Mike Munholland is becoming an experienced searcher, answering the first call for volunteers, three months ago.
"I feel bad for the family. They need closure. We need to find her," said searcher Michael Munholland.
He's not sure about psychics, but he's following Jeff Baker's lead for Cori's sake. And, he wants others to get back involved.
"The more people the better chances. Ya know, psychic or no psychic, the more people you get the better chances you're going to have," added searcher Michael Munholland.
Jeff Baker says he confirmed the search area with the prime suspect in the case, Marquis Bullock. But, no police showed up to the search. The Baker family vows to continue looking on Wednesday morning. They're meeting at Unity Christian Church near 31st and Harvard at 8 a.m.
