Winter weather returned to northeastern Oklahoma Thursday morning.  A strong winter storm dumped sleet and snow on the Sooner state.  The storm is sweeping across the region and with it will come with strong northerly winds.

Most of the snow fell across the Tulsa area and north and east of Tulsa.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for more than two dozen counties across the northern half of the state.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says only a few accidents have been reported and none are believed to be serious.

Officials at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City and Tulsa International say no flights have been canceled or delayed because of the weather.

The state Department of Transportation as well as many Oklahoma communities have had their sand trucks out on the roads since early Thursday.
