Tony Gillespie is working hard, trying to prepare himself for college football.
"I just want to go in there in tip top shape," Gillespie said.
He'll need to play his best against the Big 12's best. Gillespie will be playing for Kansas State.
"It was like a perfect fit to me," Gillespie said. "I got a good vibe with the coaches and players. They care about a lot more than just football."
His coach says the best is ahead for Gillespie.
"I don't think he's scratched the surface of his physical ability," said Jenks football coach Allan Trimble. "He could be an NFL player. He's got that kind of ability and that kind of talent."
That's' an ability he developed as a Jenks Trojan.
"Being at Jenks and being on the big stage," Gillespie said. "And for a guy like coach Tremble, he has the big name and college coaches come here and ask about the players."
"Only one out of 18,000 people get a Division-I college scholarship," Tremble said. "They're very elite, very rare and very hard to come by."
Three players from the 2007 Trojan squad will sign Division-I football scholarships.
