Tulsa is among the top 10 worst metropolitan areas for people suffering from asthma. The Washington-based organization ranked Tulsa as the country's second-worst city for asthma sufferers.
Knoxville, Tennessee, was ranked first.
The foundation reviews factors such as the number of people diagnosed with asthma, the number of asthma medications used per patient and local air quality.
Other cities which made the list as "asthma capitals'' were Milwaukee; Atlanta; Memphis and St. Louis.
The rankings were sponsored by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.
