Knitting's been around for centuries, now it's hot again. Loops is a yarn store at Utica Square and as News On 6 reporter Rick Wells found out, it's getting national attention.
Shelley Brander opened Loops in Utica Square three years ago because she was looking for her kind of knitting store and couldn't find it.
"I felt like there could be a more modern store that was more geared to a wider audience," said Brander.
In Loops there's a play area for children. But, Brander's business isn't just about Tulsans, she has online customers across the country and around the world.
Thursday night was a coup for Tulsa. Louisa Harding one of the world's top knitwear designers came to town. She signed books and talked knitting.
Knitting's back in a big way.
"Our best knitters are people who don't have the time. They're the people who can't sit still without doing something with their hands," said Branders.
People are discovering knitting or coming back to something they did years ago.
