The search for 13-year-old Cori Baker’s body resumed Wednesday morning along the banks of the Arkansas River in Tulsa. Tulsa Police say 18-year-old Marquis Bullock has admitted he dumped Baker’s body on the west side of the Arkansas River near 31st Street.
The Tulsa Police Underwater Search and Recovery team spent Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning dragging the river. If Cori's body was dumped in the Arkansas on Friday, it is hard to know if it could be kept in place by the strong undertow or if it could be further down river. Police officers also searched the banks by chopper and on foot, looking for anything that would confirm the things told them by Marquis Bullock.
"By that time, hopefully, the river will have dropped some more. The corps closed the gates at Keystone Lake. It takes six to eight hours for the water to get this far. It's dropped a lot by the morning, it'll be even more and allow us to do a safe, good, thorough search," said Tulsa Police officer Jason Willingham.
Bullock was dating Cori Baker's older sister, Courtney and police arrested Bullock Monday night for kidnapping and murder.
Tulsa Police say they are confident they will find the body near 31st and the Arkansas River, because some of Bullock's story to police is panning out.
A fund has been established for Cori Baker's family through the Bank of Oklahoma.
