BOSTON (AP) -- A quick-moving blaze has consumed a three-story home in Boston, injuring 14 adults and children and forcing firefighters to make dramatic rescues.
Officials say all eight adults and six children have taken to a hospital, including a two-year-old boy a firefighter found crying on a bed in a smoke-filled room.
A firefighter says he opened a couple doors and heard a faint cry. He says he felt around the bed and found the child, then took off his mask and put it on the child's face.
At least two victims are in serious condition, including the two-year-old. A Boston emergency official says some victims jumped or fell from second- and third-floor balconies.
Boston Fire spokesman Steve MacDonald says a short circuit sparked the blaze.
