The search is on for a missing 13-year-old girl. Cori Baker's family hasn't seen her or heard from her since after school on Friday. She's a seventh grader at Union and instead of riding the bus home, some kids saw her get into a car with a young man, someone she knew. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports police suspect foul play.
Cori Baker has never run away and has good attendance in school. She loves basketball and had a game Saturday morning. She has been calling everyone, inviting them to come watch her play. Her father says she would've never missed that game willingly.
Cori Baker's bedroom is that of a typical 13 year old: pictures of her and her friends on one wall, posters of cute boys on another, stuffed animals nearby and her most cherished possession, her basketball, still in her bed, where she often sleeps with it.
"Cori is silly, very outgoing, really loves her basketball games and just an all around great kid,†said Cori’s father, Daniel Baker.
Cori attends Union Alternative school, while she works to catch up her studies, since she recently moved here from a much smaller school district.
She didn't ride the bus home as usual on Friday afternoon, and that's the last time her family or friends had any contact with her. Her father spent Friday evening calling everyone he could think of and filed a police report Friday night.
"I just need anybody who has any information at all, even if they have to call anonymously. They have to know this child is so loved. She's go to return home safe,†said Daniel Baker, Cori’s father.
Her father and police are beginning to fear the worst, but hoping for the best and need anyone who saw Cori or the car she got into to come forward.
She was wearing an orange Hornets hoodie with white shorts. Her friend's mother had just done Cori's hair in tight braids all over her head. Cori's father has a message for her on the off-chance she can hear it.
"Cori, we love you and need you to contact us immediately and we will not ever stop looking. You need to do your part to get home,†said Daniel Baker.
Tulsa police were trying to get a search warrant on Monday for the car they believe Cori got into. They were also trying to find the boy described by witnesses, but so far haven't been able to find him.
What they need is information and it can be called in anonymously to Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
