Decades after they served their country overseas, some Owasso veterans are finally getting their high school diplomas.
Buel Deason and Ken Cope dropped out of high school when they were drafted in the late 1960s. After serving in Vietnam they ended up never going back to finish their school work. On Friday, Owasso put that special piece of paper in their hands.
“It’s a long time overdue, having this here today," said Buel Deason, Vietnam Veteran.
The ceremony included a musical tribute to their fallen comrades.
