LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- About 160 Oklahoma National Guard soldiers are back in the Sooner state after duty in Iraq. The members of the 245th Engineer Company based in Bristow have returned to Fort Sill in Lawton on Wednesday where they were met by several hundred friends and family.
Colonel Pat Scully says the soldiers performed convoy and security duty in Iraq. The soldiers will be processed at Fort Sill before being allowed to return home.
Major General Harry Wyatt says each soldier in the 245th who was sent to Iraq returned safely.
