NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ A fast moving cold front is moving toward Oklahoma and bringing strong winds and a freeze warning to parts of the state.
The National Weather Service says winds behind the front will become northerly with gusts 35 to 40 miles per hour followed by sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour.
There is a wind advisory for Wednesday afternoon in Custer, Beckham, Washita, Greer and Kiowa counties.
The winds will eventually diminish and temperatures will drop leading to freeze warnings in the northwestern Oklahoma counties of Harper, Woods, Alfalfa, Ellis and Woodward.
