NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he won't be using comments made by Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione about OU as motivation for Saturday's game.
Franchione in August spoke to an A&M booster club in Houston and said the Sooners' only question marks appear to be who would be quarterback and ``what jobs they are going to work this year.''
That was in reference to the scandal that led to former quarterback Rhett Bomar and lineman J.D. Quinn being kicked off the team for taking pay for hours they didn't work.
Franchione said at the time the comment was a joke he couldn't resist. He said this week that it was a lighthearted comment to a bunch of Aggies and that he has great respect for OU.
Stoops says he has no plans to remind the players of the comment because he doesn't need to.
OU hosts A&M Saturday with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
