LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska coach Bill Callahan says quarterback Sam Keller is out for the season with a shoulder injury and Joe Ganz will start this week against Kansas.

Callahan didn't specify the type of injury to Keller's shoulder.

Keller's left arm was in a sling as he stood on the sideline at the end of Saturday's 28-25 loss at Texas.

Keller transferred to Nebraska from Arizona State last year and won the starting job over Ganz in preseason practice. He completed more than 63% of his passes for more than 2,400 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Ganz has appeared in three games this season and threw a touchdown pass to Maurice Purify against Texas.
