Wildfires in California have meant fewer people have been able to donate blood. That has blood supplies there running low. The Tulsa chapter of the American Red Cross wants to help. They’re encouraging those in Tulsa to roll up their sleeves and donate.
“The region out in California had to cancel all their blood drives. Some blood collection buses got caught back behind some of the lines, the fire lines. So, this is just what the Red Cross does,†said Jan Hale with the American Red Cross.
Generous blood donors have Tulsa’s blood supply in good shape. That means 50 units of blood can be shipped to California.
For more information on donating, you can call the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or visit their website.
