SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The New Orleans Saints own a three-game winning streak after Drew Brees passed for 336 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-10 pounding of the 49ers in San Francisco.
Brees completed 31 of his 39 passes and avoided any sacks for the fourth straight game. He threw three of his TD passes to Marques Colston, who had eight receptions for 85 yards.
David Patten also was busy with five catches for 109 yards, including a 49-yard reception.
Reggie Bush had 113 total yards for the Saints, who jumped out to a 24-point halftime lead and improved to 3-and-4.
Alex Smith and Frank Gore struggled against New Orleans. Smith went 22-of-43 for 190 yards in his first game since separating his right shoulder four weeks ago. Gore twisted his ankle again in the second half and finished with 41 yards rushing for the 2-and-5 Niners.
