A motorists makes a gruesome discovery in North Tulsa. The bodies of two were found under a tarp, dumped on the side of the road along 56th Street North, just East of Highway 75. News On 6 anchor Craig Day reports police have now identified the victims.

Tulsa police say 29-year-old Angela Bassett and 36-year-old Angela Hargrove were found partially clothed, bound and wrapped in a tarp just off the side of the road. A driver traveling along 56th Street North made the gruesome discovery Tuesday morning after he saw the tarp and stopped to pick it up.

"When he checked it out, he found the bodies of what are believed to be two white females within the tarp," Tulsa Police Chief Ron Palmer said.

Police believe the women were likely killed somewhere else and then dumped along the road only a short time before they were discovered.

"We had preliminary information that somebody drove along here that works at the dumpsite here, that didn't see the bodies at seven o'clock, and then at 7:20, they were discovered by another worker," said Palmer.

Police aren't releasing the exact cause of death and are now working to find out if anyone saw anything out of the ordinary.

"We will go back and try and find if there were other witnesses that drove by. Linking the last known people to the victims is the best way to start these investigations and we'll be doing that as quickly as we can," said Tulsa Police Chief Ron Palmer.
