NOBLE, Okla. (AP) -- A Noble police officer who was arrested for drunken driving last month has been fired.
City Manager Bob Wade says he's fired officer Bobby Sirpless.
Sirpless had been on paid administrative leave since September 10 when he was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, carrying a firearm while under the influence and transporting an open container.
Sirpless' attorney says Sirpless is considering legal action against the city.
Court records say Sirpless was arrested by Norman police after witnesses saw him run a red light and crash into another car. A police report says Sirpless smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet and refused to take a field sobriety test.
