STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State point guard Byron Eaton injured his left shoulder in practice, but is expected to be healthy before the start of the regular season.
Cowboys coach Sean Sutton said Monday that Eaton hurt his shoulder in practice Sunday and would miss two to three weeks of practice.
``We expect Byron to be back before the start of the regular season,'' Sutton said. ``This is an unfortunate situation, because he has worked so hard during the offseason. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, this will give our other players an opportunity at the point guard position.''
Eaton, a McDonald's All-American in high school, has started 51 games in his first two seasons at Oklahoma State. He averaged 7.7 points and 3.6 assists last season.
Oklahoma State plays its first of two exhibition games November 2 against Panhandle State. The regular season opener is a week later against Prairie View A&M.
