ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities in Lorain County, Ohio, say they are piecing together details of a killing that they believe was carried out by the 16-year-old son of a preacher.

Daniel Petric was to appear in court on Monday, accused of shooting his mother to death and critically wounding his father.

Sue Petric and her husband Mark Petric, pastor of New Life Assembly of God in the Cleveland suburb of Wellington, were found Saturday night by their daughter and her husband. Officials say thedaughter had to force her way past Daniel Petric to enter the home.

Authorities pronounced the mother dead at the scene. The father remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the face. The sheriff's office says it has some clues as to the motive, but would not discuss it.
