OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry has appointed veteran judge John Reif of Skiatook as the newest member of the Oklahoma State Supreme Court.
Reif was appointed Friday to fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of Justice Robert Lavender.
The 56-year-old Reif has served in the state judiciary for 26 years. He's currently a member of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals where he spent the last 23 years.
Reif earned both his law degree and bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa.
This is Henry's fourth appointment to the nine-member Oklahoma Supreme Court.
