Wednesday afternoon's opening round of storms damaged the Tulsa Zoo. Mohawk Park and the Oxley Nature Center were hit in the second round of storms Wednesday evening. The damage was extensive enough to force the closure of Mohawk Park on Thursday.
A tent that covered the American Airlines Pavilion at the zoo ended up wrapped around a tree. Limbs were blown down.
With the threat of severe weather, the zoo kept all the animals inside on Wednesday. They all weathered the storm. The Tulsa Zoo plans to resume normal business hours on Friday.
