GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Four days after signing with Carolina, Vinny Testeverde helped lead the Panthers to a 25-to-10 road victory against Arizona.

The 43-year-old quarterback was filling in for an injured David Carr, who took over as the team's number-one signal caller after Jake Delhomme injured his throwing elbow.

Quarterback Vinny Testaverde hit Steve Smith for a 65-yard scoring pass to extend his NFL record by throwing a TD pass for a 21st straight season.

John Kasay kicked four field goals for the Panthers, who improve to 4-and-2, with all of their wins on the road.

Arizona also played with a quarterback who wasn't on the roster last Sunday. Tim Rattay was rushed into action when Cardinals starter Kurt Warner sprained his left elbow in the first quarter.

The two-time NFL MVP was making his first start of the season in place of Matt Leinart, who is out for the season with a broken collarbone.

Vinny Testaverde completed 20 of 33 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown, and did not throw an interception.

Tim Rattay was 12-of-24 for 159 yards with three interceptions.
